$63K Lost Through Fake Coupons — Then One Cashier’s Override History Gives Her Away

A BJ’s Wholesale Club cashier used a manual coupon override meant for real discounts to knock thousands off one customer’s total — two or three times a day, for months. When detectives finally sit her down, how much of the scheme does she actually admit to?

• Grand Theft (Second Degree) — Florida Statutes Section 812.014: theft between $20,000 and $100,000 is a second-degree felony
• Organized Fraud — Florida Statutes Section 817.034: a scheme to defraud totaling $50,000 or more is a first-degree felony on its own
• Criminal Conspiracy — Florida Statutes Section 777.04: two people agreeing to run a scheme together is its own separate charge
• Key evidence: dozens of flagged override transactions, matched surveillance video, a full Miranda-warned confession

  1. She should have called the da's office, not a beat cop. Interview, then trespass and press charges! The DA's office decided whether charges will go through not the detective. But, im sure if the detective didn't feel there was sufficient evidence, the da's office would probably agree.

  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was sleeping with the older man because it’s noway she did this over a year and didn’t get anything out of the deal!!!! She was definitely apart of the scam!!

  3. girl sounds like a people pleaser and that guy took advantage of the situation. I am not taking the blame from her, she should've known any better. Now she faces consequences for being overly nice to some douchebag for nothing!

  4. Speaking as a grocery store manager, I completely understand what this manager is going through. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with an employee stealing from your store.
And to the people saying the manager shouldn't care because it's "not her money"—as a store manager, I am responsible for every single dollar that comes in and out of that store. Every dollar needs to be accounted for. Having an employee steal upwards of $63,000 is a massive problem, and I’d want them arrested on the spot too. But as a manager, I also know you have to let the proper procedure unfold. I do think she was being a bit overbearing with the cop, though. Saying you can't anticipate a police officer being busy at 9 AM is crazy. They never know what they’re walking into when they start their shift

  5. You don't own the place but your so invested ma'am… you get paid what 18 bucks hour….
