Tbh I never thought this book was disturbing or anything. If anything I thought it was interesting and even inspirational how humanity, despite being warped and twisted into a new form, still manages to achieve sentience and knowledge again, and adapt to their forms and evolve past the hand they were dealt. Triumph of the human spirit, even though we no longer look like humans.
