Hi guys, welcome to Day 8 of this 10 day acoustic guitar series where we’ll be checking out the G major scale and a riff to a classic song that uses this scale!

The song we’ll be learning is ‘The Joker’ by the Steve Miller Band – a fantastic song to get your mates singing along to! We’ll be learning the riff and the song in full, plus easier ‘strum and sing’ options.

  1. im on day 10 11 or something , first time i took a guitar, i already mastered this course in 30min or so ; D i feel proud, fingers starts getting thicker too

  2. Day 8 present andy ❤.

Some people, actually a lot of people were saying this courses and lessons need atleast a week to complete one part of it . But I feel its too easy to complete if u can and have the time to practice, I'm at day 8, I'm totally a beginner now feel like I learned a lot even this lesson is too easy for me (that's what I feel). It depends upon person to person.

    Thanks andy

  3. The first time in my life that I took a guitar and felt confident to play along and learn is when I started this 10-Day beginners course. This is beyond awesome 👌🏾. Thanks so much. And to see that these videos are 8 years old just makes me 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️. This is amazing. Thank you

  4. Thank you so much for putting your videos up for free! I'm on day 8, and I'm actually playing the songs. They are rough, but you can tell what I'm playing. LOL! I plan on starting at day 1 again after I'm done with day 10. Thank you again man!

  5. Good lesson, but learning to play the scale without the open strings would've made it better as the scale would then be replicable for any root note until you need to cross the 2nd string. That minor critique aside I am enjoying this series and you've saved me a at least £100 in guitar lessons getting me to a point where it's worth me paying for an in person lesson built on some simple to learn (but hard to master) basics. Thanks. 🙂

  6. Your lessons are absolutely amazing!!! Thank you so much for being the best guitar teacher EVER ❤❤❤❤❤ so grateful youtube is a place for you to thrive with a worldwide audience ❤❤❤❤❤😊

  7. This series is awesome! Ive played bass for awhile, and got my first 6 string a couple weeks ago and loving these lessons. We need days 11-20😂

  8. I (pick)ed up on some of your alternative picking videos, and started using them for this tutorial. It is still frustrating as hell but going better than I thought it would if that makes any sense. I'm getting pretty close to getting the riff with alternate picking. Thanks a lot, Andy!

  9. You're an amazing teacher!! Thank you for these videos so glad I found these to start my guitar journey. I really feel like I have a good grasp on the basics and different playing styles from watching your videos I've improved a lot over this course excited to keep learning!🙂
