DIY investor and early retiree Gary Gill has just 6 minutes to defend three of the biggest investments in his portfolio. Can he make a convincing case while beating the clock? Watch to find out!

I have similar investment income with a very similar strategy. That's GROSS income. Unfortunately given that I am approaching 71 (RRSP), the best strategy by far now would be to leave Canada for a friendlier tax jurisdiction. Very sad
UHHHH EXCUSE ME GARY!?! CONGRATS MANNNNNNN
This is pure snake oil. There's no such thing as a "portfolio pyramid", EVERY portfolio is a pie chart; Gary is just marketing his own BS. Then he's bragging "My portfolio returns $X thousand per month" and never reveals the value of his portfolio. If he has a $10,000,000 portfolio, making $30k/month is nothing special. Shame on TD for validating this marketing spinster.
How much in each ? Most important info is missing. Useless interview
TD should know a lot better than to pump these covered call ETFs that have zero track record or less than three years. These covered called ETFs are not actual retirement funds that you can continue to strip out distributions without worrying about your initial Eroding. A lot of these ETFs the fund manager will want you to reinvest these distributions so the returns look more organic compared to the index.
Sequence of withdrawal risk is huge when it comes to 90% in this portfolio for example he made an initial investment in MSTE at $11 with $190,000 and received about 11,000 units even after reinvesting those distributions he would still be down $90,000 on that capital ! If you use the distributions to fund his retirement, you’d be down $146,000 again you cannot use these as retirement vehicles . The only one that will work long-term is VDY with no Nav erosion organic distributions.
How much does this guy have invested though
Great job 🎉
That portfolio is several million dollars in value.
Perfect guest – I am similar to this strategy. We have similar monthly incomes and portfolio sizes. Been investing since I was 18 and now 56. This is by far the absolute best strategy for growth and income.
Also why no margin if you're going leveraged on HDIV
Lots of overlap
Sorry TD investing , I had to breakup with you. Questrade is my new Love.
I know Gary by following Gary's U tubes. You choose great person to interview and Gary is very humble and down to earth. He answer and read comments – bless him.
His portfolio would have to be a couple million or more to generate that kind of income every month no matter what investments he has. But congrats to him hes doing what most people dont do…prioritize investing.
The market is finally entering its bear market endgame, and the structure behind Bitcoin is proving it. Every attempt to drag BTC back toward $45K keeps getting rejected, while liquidity quietly rotates into hard assets and away from overleveraged risk markets. This is exactly the kind of inflection point where disciplined trading matters most, and Linda Keichian framework is the reason I was able to grow my position from 2.6BTC to 19.7BTC during all the volatility. When the market reaches checkmate, price stops listening to narratives…it listens to strength, and Bitcoin continues to show it….
what his portfolio value 25 k per month doesn't tell us much
Gary is a smart cookie.
Yay Gary! 😂😂😂😂
i hold two and that's it xeqt – qef – Vre and some stocks
How do you get $25k a month? Do you have a $3mil portfolio?
Don't follow Gill. NAV erosion on investment.
BMO just released commission free trades! When will TD offer the same to it's clients?
None of these people make any money by trading or investing. This is why they have contents on youtube and that is their bread and butter.
Great interview Gary! Just today I told the TD banker that my LIF is going to be VDY VFV and XEQT.
