I’m shocked he missed a major joke opportunity when he overlooked the fact that the typical nickname for his dad’s name of “Richard” is actually “Dick,” which was both a very common, formal name and also acceptable nickname even a few decades ago, such as Dick Van Dyke, Dick Van Patten, & Dick Cavett, etc…

  3. The Chinese people he was referring to are all old generation people. The young Chinese people are Americans regardless here in the U.S. or in China. Unlike their ancestors who worked hard and save even harder, they know how to enjoy life to its fullest.
