Tesla Model Y Price & Specs
The standard Model Y comes with rear-wheel drive and starts at approximately Rs 51 lakh. EMI options begin around Rs 40,000 per month with a Rs 6 lakh down payment. It offers a claimed range of around 500 km, along with a complimentary home charger and charging coverage across every state in India. Tesla also claims owners can save close to Rs 20,000 a month on fuel compared to a petrol SUV.

Tesla Model YL Price & Specs
The new Model YL is built for Indian families who need more space. It’s a 3-row, 6-seat layout with a captain seat in row 2, dual motor all-wheel drive, and a claimed range of around 681 km. Fold down all the seats and you get roughly 2,539 litres of cargo space. Pricing starts around Rs 62 lakh, with EMI options from approximately Rs 50,000 per month and a Rs 6.5 lakh down payment — that’s roughly an Rs 11 lakh gap over the standard Model Y.

Ownership Cost Why It’s Tempting
Both models come with no fixed service intervals, no scheduled servicing for a long time, and zero oil changes which brings down long-term ownership cost significantly compared to a petrol SUV.

The best part of this visit was seeing Grok AI live inside the cabin, now with support for multiple Indian regional languages a big step for accessibility across the country.

Verdict
Tesla’s India pricing, EMI structure, and low running costs make this one of the more tempting EV ownership propositions right now.
