This video was made primarily in response to me seeing a lot of people use “Side A” to refer to something new in Chapter 5. I wanted to clear up that Side B has been here the whole time! (Except Chapter 1)

It’s a Celeste reference. B sides are unlocked by cassettes you can find and collect in levels that make you play a much harder version of said level.
"Side B" is actually a reference to how you access chapter 7B, being Bread. "Side Bread"

Inspired in part by Soda's second possession theory, I'm starting to think that the Incident of Side B chapter 5 is how the Angel was born in the first place. Not from Dess, but from Noelle and Kris' souls merging into something analogous to Asriel's final form in Undertale, a being whose will is torn between Noelle and us (and possibly Kris if we think of them as the Flowey analog, a soulless vessel, though I could just as easily see them being 'used up', their will completely subsumed by the will of the two souls).
Mantle already shows us the consequences of a player asserting their power too heavily; the world is flattened and becomes empty. There are only obstacles "in my way" and what was once a character is now merely a key to bypass those obstacles. There is an illusion of freedom, but the story converges to a single empty point. Every NPC is gone. Every door is open. There is nothing left. Note that in Ch. 5 we never even engage with the dark world; it's been completely sidelined in favor of manipulating the light world in service to the player. We don't even engage with the Knight in this case because they're only powerful in the dark world.
Perhaps this renders the game in such a broken state that Side A meets the dire circumstances that require whatever undesirable fate lies at the end of the prophecy. Note that Kris is labeled a 'Cage' in the prophecy – they are only a cage from the perspective of the player and it's a term that feels more oppositional than 'vessel'. Stopping The Angel would involve killing The Cage as well as The Girl's Love, two fates that Ralsei and especially Susie would certainly want to avoid.
I suspect The Knight, who completely embraces the dark, is in opposition to this. Perhaps aware that some instance of The Player is what ruins their world, but not knowing us as individuals (some of us certainly are on track to do just that). Kris is the most dehumanized by Side B, the one who'd be kicking and screaming as we dragged them along if they had enough control of their body to do so. Kris is also aligned with the Knight. It would be fitting if The Knight were a certain rebellious punk with a musical rallying cry urging one to take up arms and assert their rights.
I'm not really a believer in the Aborted/Twisted Route theory, but the fact that the Normal route is A, and the Weird route is B, means that Twisted is AB, as in "ABorted"

I got this feeling that last chapter won't be Chapter 7 … it'll be chapter ONE SIDE B.
My thoughts are
Side A:the original DELTARUNE, were we play as the vessel, perhaps a new game+
Side B:Twisting the games rule so much the game needs to create a whole new side just to not break
Side C:Twisted route, the game tries to readjust but because of how much you already went off the normal path, it causes much more issues
Side D:Deltarune, the normal route were we play as kris
Side ?:Dirty hacker, I 100% believe that there will be a dirty hacker route, there are too many unused items,text and other stuff not to have deltarune react to you messing with the games rules.

I think “side b” is meant to be the chapter 7 weird route segment while “side a” is what would happen if you didn’t do the weird route

i find it curious personally that the flag to determine the weird route is 0 and that the normal route is 1. normally in code stuff, the alternate path/route/flag would have the flag set to 1 and 0 for the default flag

i think there's credence to calling the normal route "Side A", as the achievements for the console versions of deltarune are referred to with the suffix "[CHAPTER]-A" (1-A, 2-A, etc etc)
and typically if something is named like this, it's only natural that there would be something like 1-B, 2-B, and so on and so forth
For summary: Side A is just pacifist (or neutral?) and Side B is weird route (real canon name)

It's probably worth mentioning that completing the weird route in chapter 5 adds an entry to your Deltarune master file. Which is the file that tracks global flags that (potentially) affect the game across all save files. An example of such a flag in Undertale was the flag checking if you had ever completed a geno run in Undertale and would consequently alter the true pacifist ending to the soulless pacifist ending. So it's very much possible that reaching this point in the lake could permanently lock you out of the happy ending.
Also I just want to mention that Toby made Susie drop the "weird" word like 3 or 4 times during the chapter's beginning leading up to the lake scene, just to then drop the "Side B" nomenclature right at the end. I swear he's purposefully messing with us there.

You yourself stated it. I believe that chapter 7 must be inserted as a disk, perhaps weird route wont continue on chapter 7 but simply resume in 6, you obviously needing to attain chapter 7 and "insert it" as the text says.

People are saying that it changes you files’ names and adds "b" to it, and it does this to ALL of your files. Maybe a stupid question, but does it mean that when ch7 come out I will not get to play the normal route and will have to play Side B because I did it?

Man the Weird Route of Ch 5 managed to actually unnerve me so much so that playing it blind legit kept me up at night
I'm scared for my normal save now, but maybe that's how I'm supposed to feel
