The new cast of the beloved spinoff “A Different World” joins TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones and guest co-host Justin Sylvester to talk about the importance of the series. “They are such well-loved characters, not only in the Black television community, but the world at large,” Maleah Joi Moon says. Alijah Kai opens about starring alongside her mom in the series and Jordan Aaron Hall shares his experience playing the first openly queer person in the show’s world. “It’s not pressure, it’s responsibility,” he says.

They are Family ❤
The cast themselves are interesting & charismatic enough they could film a separate reality show about their lives outside of A Different World's production & I'd watch that too! 👏
❤❤❤❤
The show is OK it’s just some things I don’t need to see, but I hope everything works out for them
I loved the reboot and the characters! I fell in love with the reboot during one of the early episodes when Jasmine Guy is talking to her cast daughter and the way she pronounced Connecticut had me dying on the floor. Those of us from Connecticut have not quite heard it pronounced in that Whitley fashion.
Loved the interview ! Just finished watching season 1 and I can’t wait for season 2.
He looks like Michael Ealy, omg
Beautiful young cast. Love the guest appearances from the OG's
"Amir" hair is gorgeous. I've watched this series 3 times. Now I'm watching the original one. A Different World is the reason I attended my HBCU "Stillman College"
Thanks for taking the time to make this.
I really enjoyed the new series, looking forward to more oh so glad the o.g. one is back.❤❤❤😊
The hosts Aaliyah hairstyle is so good.
I hope they have MANY more seasons ahead. It was so good. I probably have to watch it again!
He does give a bit of Mekhi Phifer. Handsome young men on this cast.
He reminds of Chadwick Bosmen.
Nah Maleah looks like H.E.R
Kojo seems so well-rounded, I can see him sky rocketing to the big screen.
Just watched the first episode. It’s terrible. Just a convoluted mess. You would think they would have tried to make it good.
IF THEY DONT RETURN IN SEASON 2 IT WILL BE A GARBAGE THE MATH AINT MATHIN PAY THEM PEOPLE THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE
I had no intention on watching the whole season in one sitting but…this young cast had a beautiful synergy and the storyline was blended SO WELL with what we all remember!! This was great!
Cmon actuarial science!
He looks NOTHING like Mekhi or Idris. Nice looking but doesn't resemble either.
I loved the new A Different World. It had to grow on me but I kept watching. I'm ready for the next season. ❤😊
Idris or toung Wesley
To be….Young, Gifted and Black!!!❤❤❤
The host made this entire thing about himself ridiculous this is a dynasty so many other questions could’ve been asked. Love the new cast. They’re absolutely beautiful and radiant. Let’s go back to journalism and interviewing skills 101.
I watched all of season 1 and I absolutely loved it waiting for season 2. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ just black excellence!!! Best reboot I’ve ever seen !!!!!
Chibuikem is NOT British??!!!!!!! Omfg this might be a first – an American convincingly playing a Brit. This is reparations
Black Excellence!!!
I hope their careers take off and they do big things!! They had great chemistry! They were ALL great!
CORNELL YOUNG IV!!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰

Everyone did a cameo in this season I loved it!! Support Black shows that encourage education and get the ratings up 🙌
I was skeptical at first when I heard about the spinoff, but i'm all in now. You can tell they took great care with what ADW and Hillman means to so many. I hope they get a second season.
It was GOOD! I’m watching it again tonight!
This guy just ruins the interview. Hes loud, consistently interrupting with oddball comments. Otherwise a great cast, an amazing reboot worth watching. Every character truly gets their own arch. Well done
